Understand your mortgage repayment
Start with the amount you borrow, rather than the property price before your deposit. Choose repayment, interest-only or a mixed loan to see your monthly principal and interest, lifetime interest and a downloadable amortization schedule.
With an interest-only loan, the borrowed principal remains due at the end of the term. For a mixed loan, the interest-only portion remains due. Taxes, insurance and lender fees are additional costs and are not included here.
Rates are illustrative inputs, not live offers. Use the rate and repayment terms from your lender. See the CFPB explanation of monthly mortgage payments for the distinction between principal, interest and other housing costs.
